There is never anything to say in these things, I merely feel the desire to cover up what I have previously said that seemed like a rant. Like this will in a few months. Spring bloom is excellent, Virginia skies as background to beautiful blooms.... less cooperative indeed. If it ever gets nice, I'll be putting some pics from Shenandoah National Park.
So I assembled a computer yesterday from parts and discussed various types of numerical representation. Today I read about 30 pages on Hopf bifurcation with two and three variables. But I cannot seem to change my avatar. This strikes me as a little disheartening.
I watched Futurama yesterday, the first one, where Farnsworth shows them all his drawer with a wires of different sizes. Today, in my lab, they showed me the drawer with different lengths of wire. Eerie.
Semester starts Tuesday, taking kinetics, xport 2, and chaos theory. So have to escape while I can.
I wonder if I ought to change it one of these days. It has been nearly five years...
Suggestions? Handouts? You know who you are...
Btw, I require the Dana's address again. I lost my old stamps, and got some new ones, and suspect loss will happen again soon. And that you will be scampering from the devil's country in short order.
I has a brain pattern, now that all my professors are gone. What a pity they conflict with one another.
Task of the week: research writing essay on (dah dah dah) An Equation of State for Electrolyte Solutions... you know you're jealous.
Charlottesville is rather close to Shenandoah National Park, which is known for its skyline drive. I'd been told that fall especially would be quite spectacular here. I had no idea. For weeks, now, various trees have been growing to look as if on fire. I think this week has been the peak. As a new grad student, I don't have the time to run over to Shenandoah and spend the hours that would require (ah, next year) but I did go to campus (The Grounds, they call it here) and go interrogate some trees. I must have over a hundred. I put three up here, but there must be still a dozen I am desperately in love with.
Sigh.
Soon they'll be gone.
Looking forward to pictures in Florida over winter break, at least.
